2020 recipients of Guy and Giese Graduate Student Fellowship

Five students were awarded the annual Guy and Giese Graduate Student Fellowship. The Giese Graduate Fellowship was created in memory of Henry Giese, professor of structures and environment areas for Iowa State University’s Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department (ISU ABE). The Harold and Katherine Guy Graduate Fellowship was designed to promote research done in soil and water conservation. 

Chair of ABE receives ATMAE Faculty Excellence Award

Steve Mickelson is the 2019 recipient of the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) Faculty Excellence Award. NCEES honors ISU CCEE alumnus and Nebraska professional engineer Michael Conzett for service

Michael Conzett, P.E., of Omaha, Nebraska, has been awarded the NCEES Distinguished Service Award for his dedicated service to NCEES and the engineering and surveying professions. Conzett received this award at the organization’s 98th annual meeting, held August 14–17, 2019, in Washington, D.C.

Ming-Chen Hsu to Receive 2019 USACM Gallagher Young Investigator Award

Ming-Chen Hsu, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, has been awarded the 2019 U.S. Association for Computational Mechanics Gallagher Young Investigator Award, one of the most prestigious honors from the global computational mechanics’ community. The Gallagher Young Investigator Award is given to an outstanding investigator under the age of 40, who is recognized for outstanding accomplishments, particularly outstanding published papers.
