Iowa State University’s Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Alliant Energy that will make it easier for Iowa manufacturers to implement new digital technologies and become more productive. With Alliant Energy’s support, CIRAS this summer will open a new laboratory in the ISU Research Park to help Iowa companies experiment with new manufacturing technologies. The new ISU Digital Manufacturing Lab Powered by Alliant Energy will educate Iowa businesses about technologies such as collaborative robots and advanced vision systems and help them explore ways that automation might improve their companies.
FundISU is a new way for Cyclone Engineering alumni and friends to support the innovative work and research being done at Iowa State University. Nearly four years ago the Iowa State University Foundation implemented FundISU – a crowdfunding platform helps Iowa State University community members raise money to support projects that advance innovation, teaching and learning at the university and promote Iowa State’s mission to create, share, and apply knowledge to make Iowa and the world a better place.

Eight students from Engineers Without Borders ISU spent three weeks working hands on with the community from Ullo, Ghana to create a water supply system that directly distributes water at the Ullo Senior High School, where over 1,000 students attend throughout the year.
David, CEO and chairman of Kingland, and Deb, his wife, are alumni of ISU and have continued to be longtime supporters. The gift has been given to the College of Business, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and College of Engineering. Read more about how this generous gift will help ISU, here.
