The Center for Nondestructive Evaluation and University Museums partnered in the conservation of Start to Finish, a large sculpture representing the research, collaboration and innovation that takes place at the Applied Science Complex. Conservators with the University of Northern Iowa’s Public Art Incubator sandblasted the original paint, removed rust from within the columns and carefully repainted the sculpture to exactly match the paint to the artist’s original intent.
