CBE’s AIChE student group to host regional conference at Iowa State in April

The chemical engineering spotlight will shine brightly on the Iowa State University campus April 8-10. That’s when the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE) student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) will host the Institute’s 2022 Mid-America Student Regional Conference.

The research team of Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering associate professor Rizia Bardhan and professor of veterinary microbiology Gregory Phillips has received funding from the 2022 Margaret B. Barry Cancer Research Program.

CBE’s Mallapragada, Narasimhan elected AIChE fellows

CBE’s Anson Marston Distinguished Professor in Engineering, Carol Vohs Johnson Chair and Iowa State Associate Vice President for Research Surya Mallapragada; and Anson Marston Distinguished Professor in Engineering and Vlasta Klima Balloun Faculty Chair Balaji Narasimhan have both achieved the position of fellow in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Alumna Lori Ryerkerk of Celanese Corporation enters CBE Hall of Fame

Lori Ryerkerk, an alumna of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE), has been inducted into the CBE Hall of Fame. She accepted the honor November 18 as part of the department’s Honors and Awards ceremony that celebrated student scholarships, fellowships and other achievements.
