CBE’s Bardhan, Nanovaccine Institute cohort Phillips, receive Barry award for cancer research

The research team of Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering associate professor Rizia Bardhan and professor of veterinary microbiology Gregory Phillips has received funding from the 2022 Margaret B. Barry Cancer Research Program.

The two researchers, who work together at the Iowa State University-based Nanovaccine Institute, are developing ways to fight forms of cancer by using genetically engineered strains of probiotic bacteria.
