Three ISU CCEE undergrads co-author ScienceDirect article, gain real-world research experience

Not one. Not two. But THREE undergraduate students worked on this article in ScienceDirect. Connor Theisen, Heather Murphy and Nicholas Anastasi co-authored this paper with Associate Professor Simon Laflamme and recent ISU graduate Austin Downey. Their work proposes a new class of passive friction devices with programmable hysteresis loops.

ISU ABE alum Norman Friedrich nationally recognized by Natural Resources Conservation Services

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) recently selected Norman Friedrich, P.E., civil engineer, with the Iowa NRCS in West Union as the agency’s nominee for Federal Agency Engineer of the Year (FEYA). Friedrich was one of 32 finalists for the award which was announced Feb. 22 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
