Josh Peschel, assistant professor in agricultural and biosystems engineering, is linking agriculture and technology together in a nationwide research project funded by the National Science Foundation. The team, led by Hongwei Zhang, a professor in electrical and computer engineering, is launching a test bed for experimentation to develop new, wireless networking tools that would serve remote areas – especially ones here in Iowa.
Iris Top is a graduate student at Iowa State University studying computer engineering, with a degree focus in secure and reliable computing.
The summer of 2022 marked the end of Top’s term as president of the Gaffer’s Guild, a student organization dedicated to the education and training in the art and science of glassblowing. Members are encouraged to take their learning a step further by working on their own to master specific skills or shapes.
Anthony David, senior in mechanical engineering, will present his undergraduate research at the Research in the Capitol Undergraduate Research Symposium on March 6, 2023. His research, “Fabricating Biosensor Platforms for Real-Time Biothreat Detection,” is one of 20 research projects selected to represent Iowa State and one of six engineering projects to be selected.
Do you have what it takes?
If pushing yourself to master new tasks, employing teamwork and following operational thinking to achieve goals sounds like a great way to end your summer, then you need to apply for the Department of Aerospace Engineering’s 2023 Spaceflight Operations Workshop™.
