Eleven College of Engineering faculty and staff were among those honored during Iowa State’s University Awards Ceremony, held Sept. 22, 2014.

Mufit Akinc, professor of materials science and engineering: Regents Faculty Excellence Award, Margaret Ellen White Graduate Faculty Award

Tonia McCarley, assistant director of Center for Biorenewable Chemicals: Regents Award for Staff Excellence

Vikram Dalal, Thomas M. Whitney Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering: Anson Marston Distinguished Professor in Engineering

Steven Freeman, professor of agricultural and biosystems engineering: University Professor

Baskar Ganapathysubramanian, associate professor of mechanical engineering: Award for Early Achievement in Research

Mark Hanna, scientist for agricultural and biosystems engineering: Award for Achievement in Intellectual Property

Beth Hartmann, lecturer of civil, construction and environmental engineering: Award for Early Achievement in Teaching

Matthew Nelson, design engineer for aerospace engineering: Professional and Scientific Staff Excellence Award

Leroy Sturges, associate professor of aerospace engineering: James Huntington Ellis Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Introductory Teaching

Xinwei Wang, professor of mechanical engineering: Award for Mid-Career Achievement in Research

Hongwei Xin, Iowa Egg Council professor of agricultural and biosystems engineering, and professor of animal science: Charles F. Curtiss Distinguished Professor in Agriculture and Life Sciences
