Sarkar research helps cables, power lines withstand wind

Department of Aerospace Engineering’s Partha Sarkar and students in his research lab are utilizing the department’s Aerodynamic/Atmospheric Boundary Layer (AABL) wind tunnel in the Wind Simulation and Testing Laboratory (WiST) to study how to prevent cables – such as those that hold up bridges and power lines – from “galloping” in high wind.
