Every year the Iowa Energy Center selects four leaders in energy research and innovation, one for each of our main focus areas: bioenergy, education and outreach, energy efficiency and renewable energy. Two of these winners are members of Iowa State’s College of Engineering faculty.

Ronneberg joins Digital Lumens from Montreal-based Grass Valley, part of St. Louis-based Belden Inc., which delivers end-to-end television production and content distribution solutions to meet the mission-critical network infrastructure needs of broadcast markets.
Plans for the 2015 Jason Awards banquet to be held Tuesday, Nov. 17, are continuing to unfold. The event will be held at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs. The reception will begin at 6 p.m., with the dinner and program to follow.

Pencils of Promise is working to decrease that number and has introduced an opportunity to Iowa State. The 3-on-3 street soccer tournament that took place at the basketball courts east of Beyer Hall is an event that was created by Pencils of Promise at ISU.
Interspace travel requires the right tools. A group of ISU engineers has been working on a special tool for a trip to Mars. For the past three years, a group of engineers has been working on the Mars Analog Vehicle for Robotic Inspection for the annual Mars Society University Rover Challenge, and it’s almost mission accomplished.

KLJ, an engineering, surveying and planning firm, has hired Stephen Bianchetta in its West Fargo office. Bianchetta is an engineer in the Surface Transportation Group. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University.
SAP SE recently announced the appointment of Lori Mitchell-Keller as executive vice president and global general manager of the Consumer Industries organization. Mitchell-Keller will be responsible for the Consumer Industries footprint at SAP, which covers four industries globally. Mitchell-Keller will report directly to Pat Bakey, president of Industry Cloud.
