Civil engineering alumnus named American Council of Engineering Companies chairman

The following is a passage from a Nov. 14, 2014, press release from TranSystems:

Peter Strub (BSCE’81), a principal at TranSystems, has been selected as the next Chair Elect/Chairman for the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). His term as Chair Elect will begin in April 2015, and as Chairman he is set to preside April 2016 to April 2017.

Strub said, “It is an honor and a privilege to be stepping in as Chairman of ACEC. I will do my best to fulfill my role as an ambassador and primary advocate for ACEC. I will be working with Dave Raymond, ACEC President, to ensure that the policies and programs of the Council are implemented by the officers, committees and staff, consistent with the Strategic Plan of the organization.”

Beginning at the Member Organization level in South Carolina, Strub has been involved with ACEC at various levels, including National Director and ACEC-SC PAC Champion, since 1992. His involvement at the national level extends over the past 12 years, and includes positions such as Executive Committee-Vice Chairman, Treasurer, and Planning Cabinet-Vice Chair and Membership Chairman.

Strub has 33 years of experience in engineering and design and currently serves as a Principal and Senior Vice President with TranSystems. His areas of expertise include project management, comprehensive location and design studies and the preparation of preliminary and final right-of-way and construction plans for major highway improvement programs. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University and is a certified professional engineer in nine states throughout the southeast region of the United States.
