Design-Build Institute of America team advances from regionals, competes at nationals

In October, the Iowa State chapter of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) was selected to compete at the National DBIA Student Competition.

The ISU team that advanced to the first round of the national competition was not selected to compete in the second and final round. Those teams selected to advance were teams from the New School of Architecture and Design, Oklahoma State University and Seminole State College of Florida.

Many student cabinet members and competition participants from the Iowa State chapter of DBIA will attend the national conference in early November.  At the conference, they will network with industry partners, watch the final competition round and receive feedback on their performance in the competition.

The ISU chapter of DBIA is advised by Associate Professor Jennifer Shane, a faculty member of Iowa State University’s Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering.
