The Department of Aerospace Engineering would like to congratulate Kanchan Gutupalli, as this semester’s recipient of the Research Excellence Award. Gutupalli, a Graduate student, was nominated by her Major Professor, Dr. Ganesh Rajagopalan.
In the recommendation for her nomination, Dr. Rajagopalan shared some details in regards to her research and how quickly she mastered and “went on to formulate her own theory and enhancements”; he also mentioned the well-received presentation of her paper last fall at a national conference. Lastly, it was Gutupalli’s “can-do” attitude which was “contagious” with her fellow students that resulted in her superior work and recognition.
The Graduate College specifies that recipients of the Research Excellence Award should be recognized for their outstanding research accomplishments as well as their ability to develop a well-written product. Gutupalli has exceeded these expectations.
