“Apple has really had a major role in that evolution,” said Dr. Doug Jacobson, a University Professor of Computer Engineering at Iowa state University.

Jacobson is a computer ‘history buff’ and has a collection of old macs including one of the earliest, the Apple II. He credits Steve jobs with taking computers from an “ugly metal box” to something with mass appeal.
