With the fall semester in full swing, this year’s new faculty members are busy teaching and researching at Iowa State’s College of Engineering. As a group, they bring a wide range of expertise and skill, ranging from biomaterials to alternative energy, and they also add value to the successful interdisciplinary teaching and research within the college.
- David Asjes, lecturer in mechanical engineering
- Daniel Attinger, associate professor of mechanical engineering
- Kaitlin Bratlie, assistant professor of materials science and engineering and chemical and biological engineering
- Jian Chu, professor of civil, construction, and environmental engineering
- Ian Dobson, professor of electrical and computer engineering (on sabbatical until January)
- Nicole Hashemi, assistant professor of mechanical engineering
- Simon Laflamme, assistant professor of civil, construction, and environmental engineering
- Reza Montazami, assistant professor of mechanical engineering
- Janis Terpenny, department chair of industrial and manufacturing systems engineering
- Faxian Xiu, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering
In January, aerospace engineering will welcome Anupam Sharma as an assistant professor, and materials science and engineering will welcome Ludovico Cademartiri as an assistant professor and Rebecca Cademartiri as an adjunct assistant professor. Look for stories on these faculty in the future.
