Clean Energy America, a national speakers program designed to establish a dialogue with American citizens about the benefits of nuclear energy as a clean, reliable, and affordable source of energy, was on Iowa State’s campus Wednesday, October 19. Chuck Conlen, director of strategy, mergers, and acquisitions for DTE Energy, represented Clean Energy America during a talk given to students in Nuclear Engineering 401. In his presentation, he discussed the role of nuclear power within the future of U.S. energy and also talked about how the industry needs more students with knowledge of nuclear engineering.
NucE 401 is taught by Bradley Perkins, senior lecturer for civil, construction, and environmental engineering, and is part of the College of Engineerings minor in nuclear engineering.
