The Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists selects four candidates every year for their nationwide awards and scholarships. Mohammed Ali Notani and Parnian Ghasemi have been selected as runners-up for the 2019 AAPT Early Ph.D. Scholarship and 2019 AAPT Late Ph.D. Scholarship, respectively. Notani and Ghasemi are both graduate students studying civil engineering materials in Iowa State University’s Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering. Notani is advised by Professor Halil Ceylan and Ghasemi is advised by Professor Chris Williams, Gerald and Audrey Olson Professor in Civil Engineering.
