Jacek Koziel, associate professor of agricultural and biosystems engineering, was recently granted the “Medal for Merit” in the area of Life Sciences from the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences (WUELS) in Poland.
Koziel, who received his masters degree in mechanical engineering from the Warsaw University of Technology in Poland, currently teaches technology capstone classes and graduate seminars and mentors students in Iowa State’s Honors and George Washington Carver progams. His research interests include air quality measurements and mitigation, novel methods for odor characterization and mitigation, biotechnology, and chemical analysis of biofuels.
Koziel also coordinates study abroad trips to Poland that are “focused on livestock production systems, environment, technology and sustainability.”
