Ming-Chen Hsu, an assistant professor in mechanical engineering, was recently named a 2016 Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher by Thomson Reuters.
Each year Thompson Reuters, a Toranto-based mass media company, compiles a list of the top 1 percent of the most cited researchers with papers indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection between 2004 and 2014. Hsu’s research areas include fluid–structure interaction, computational mechanics, wind energy and biomedical applications, and isogeometric and finite element analysis. He joined the ISU faculty in 2013 after completing his PhD in structural engineering from the University of California-San Diego.
Other ISU faculty to be named Web of Science Highly Cited Researchers include Sergey Bud’ko, Paul Canfield, and Costas Soukoulis, all three of whom have appointments with the Ames Laboratory.
