Iowa State University’s Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering has released its Graduate Seminar Series schedule for the fall 2016 semester, with numerous researchers from institutions nationwide and from Iowa State University set to present their work.
Part of the required curriculum for chemical engineering graduate students at Iowa State, the seminars are open to all engineering departments at Iowa State and all chemical and biological engineering departments nationally.
Guests and topics include Dr. Fei Wen, University of Michigan, “Synthetic Biology in Personalized Immunotherapy;” Dr. Rena Bizios, University of Texas, San Antonio, “Implant Biomaterials: Current Status, Challenges and Opportunities;” Dr. Hong Yang, University of Illinois, “New Advancement in the Design of High Performance Electrocatalysts for Oxygen Reduction and Evolution Reactions; ” Dr. Paul Kohl, Georgia Institute of Technology, “Transient Polymers for Low-k Dielectrics and Decomposing;” Dr. Martin Thuo, Iowa State University Department of Materials Science and Engineering, “Development of Functional Materials through Surface and Interface Engineering;” Dr. Jean-Philippe Tessonnier, Iowa State University Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, “Designing Heterogeneous Catalysts for the Selective Conversion of Biomass in the Liquid Phase;” and Dr. Robbyn Anand, Iowa State University Department of Chemistry, “Electrokinetic Separation of Selected Cells and Metabolites from Peripheral Blood: Applications in Race Cell Capture and Kidney Disease Management.”
