Jeff Cross, who received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Iowa State in 1992, was awarded Teacher of the Year at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and also within the School of Engineering. He has worked in Japan for 20 years, and worked as a staff researcher and group leader at Fujitsu Labs from 1996 to 2008. In 2008 Cross became a professor in the School of Engineering at the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
