ISU will be hosting the 2nd Annual High Altitude Balloon Conference – June 22-24

This year Iowa State University will be hosting the 2nd Annual High Altitude Balloon conference. The conference was held last year at Taylor University and has started to gain momentum as a conference dedicated to bringing experts in high altitude research and education together.

“ISU has a long history in high altitude ballooning with their HABET program that has been ongoing since 1995. We are recognized as having one of the most successful and longest running programs in the country. So it seemed fitting that we should host the conference here this year. ” stated Matthew Nelson, this years committee chair for the conference and staff in the Aerospace Engineering Department.

The conference will be held June 22nd, 23rd and 24th in the Alliant Energy Lee Liu Auditorium and in the Howe Hall Atrium. Over 40 faculty and students from around the country will be in attendance this year. For questions please contact Matthew Nelson.
