Fukushima: Timeline, Facts, and Implications for Nuclear Power

Margaret Harding, a member of Iowa State’s Engineering College Industrial Advisory Council (ECIAC), will present her lecture “Fukushima: Timeline, Facts, and Implications for Nuclear Power,” on Wednesday, March 30, in the Alliant Energy-Lee Liu Auditorium in Howe Hall at 6:00 p.m.

Margaret has more than 30 years of experience in the nuclear industry, spending many of those years as the vice-president of engineering quality at GE Nuclear Energy. She is now a consultant to the nuclear power industry, where she advises clients on a wide variety of opportunities and issues.

As the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan has unfolded over the past week, Margaret has been called upon NBC, Fox News, CNN, The New York Times, and many others to explain and help bring clarity to the situation. Iowa State welcomes her knowledge to gain insight to the events of the recent disaster in Japan.
