Engineering researchers collaborate to study pipeline corrosion

Ashraf Bastawros, professor of aerospace engineering, has received a $300,000 grant from the Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHSMA). Center for Nondestructive Evaluation joins College of Engineering

In an effort to streamline research and economic development units at the university, the Center for Nondestructive Evaluation (CNDE) is one of three centers that will now report directly to the College of Engineering. Leonard Bond will become the new Director of the Center for Nondestructive Evaluation (CNDE) and a Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Iowa State University, effective July 1.
