ECpE rankings on the rise: CprE, EE in top 25 among public programs
Iowa State University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECpE) is passing exponential milestones. This year, ECpE’s computer engineering (CprE) program is placed as the 34th best in the nation, according to U.S. News 2019 Best Engineering Schools Rankings. This placing is a substantial nine levels better than last year’s placing of the 43rd best CprE program.
ECpE’s electrical engineering (EE) program is working its way up, too. At 39th place last year (2018), the program now ranks as the 38th best EE program, moving up one spot from last year.
Among public institutions, CprE is tied for 20th and EE is tied for 23rd, ranking both programs in the top 25 compared with other public schools.
“Since 2016, we have been making steady progress,” said Professor and Palmer Department Chair Ashfaq Khokhar. CE has jumped 19 places over the last three years, with nine of those places rising in 2019.
“I am thrilled to be part of our ECpE family,” said Khokhar.
The College of Engineering at Iowa State is ranked 41st overall, two places up from last year and four places up from 2017. Find full coverage from Iowa State University News Service here.
