“I don’t want to say it’s dead, but privacy is on its death bed. We’ve allowed this to happen and seem to be fairly willing.”
Doug Jacobson, Iowa State University Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, said this on a recent episode of Iowa Public Radio‘s show “River to River.” That episode, hosted by Ben Kieffer, takes a look at smart speakers and the privacy risks they pose. Approximately 39 million Americans own smart speakers, a number that is set to grow over the next few years. Jacobson provided his input on where privacy stands today, along with where it may go in the future.
