Jun Cui and ChaoChao Pan get double win in R&D 100 awards

Cui, and graduate student Chaochao Pan, in conjunction with Ames National Laboratory, invented a continuous hot-roll process to manufacture nanograin neo magnets. It won in the mechanical/materials category and won bronze in the green tech category.

Ted Heindel receives ASME 2023 Freeman Scholar Award

Theodore (Ted) J. Heindel, the Bergles Professor of Thermal Science, University Professor of mechanical engineering, and director of Iowa State’s Center for Multiphase Flow Research and Education (CoMFRE), has been selected to receive the 2023 Freeman Scholar Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

Cyclone engineering seniors receive first place in pitch off competition for automated medicinal sprayer product

The sixth annual Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship college-by-college pitch off was just completed this month – with Belling and Meyer placing first in the “New Idea” category, receiving a $5,000 award. The students participating in the pitch-off have to go through several rounds for the potential to win, and pitch their idea in 90 seconds to panels of judges.
