The 13th annual research showcase held 72 civil, construction and environmental engineering (CCEE) undergraduate and graduate student research presentations. This year featured projects in a broad range of subjects, like the use of VR in construction training, defining solutions for wastewater treatment, finding answers to erosion challenges, and many more. Experts from industry organizations and faculty judged the presentations.
“We are proud of the students in our department for embracing curiosity, digging deeper into CCEE topics, and presenting to peers and industry judges. For many, it was their first time presenting, and they did great,” said Greenwood Department Chair and Professor, David Sanders.
Emmanuel Padmore Mantey, a graduate student studying water resources engineering and current president of the CCEE Graduate Student Council, presented his research at this event in the past, and finds great value in continuing to host this research symposium with his team for the department,
“Nothing inspires me more than watching students step up, own their research, and present with confidence,” he says. “These discoveries can solve real-world challenges. This is where theory meets impact!”
