Mohammad Tayeb Al Qaseer named Fellow of ASNT

Mohammad Tayeb Al Qaseer, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and faculty researcher at the Center for Nondestructive Evaluation, has been named a Fellow of the American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT).

Al Qaseer earned a master’s degree and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology and a BS degree in electrical engineering from the American University of Sharjah.

His research focuses on microwave and millimeter-wave instrumentation and measurement and its application for nondestructive testing and 3D SAR imaging. He is also active in antenna design, electromagnetic image reconstruction, metamaterials, numerical electromagnetic analysis, and electromagnetic material characterization.

Al Qaseer has received numerous honors, including the 2020 and 2013 A. Wheeler Applications Best Paper Awards from the IEEE Transactions on Antennas & Propagation Society, the 2015 Research Award for Innovation from the American Society for Nondestructive Testing, the 2014 IEEE  J. Barry Oakes Advancement Award, and the 2013 IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Young Engineer Award.

He holds thirteen U.S. and international patents. He is also a Senior Member of IEEE.
