Barron Scholars’ for their remarkable achievements in academics and leadership. The Wallace E. Barron Award was established by the Iowa State University Alumni Association to recognize outstanding seniors who display high character, outstanding achievements in academics, and promise for continuing these qualities as alumni.
Douglas Gransberg, a professor of Iowa State’s Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering, recently accepted the ASCE Construction Management Award. The award is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of construction management as a practitioner, educator or researcher.
In 2009, a five-person team of students from Iowa State’s civil, construction and environmental engineering department decided to participate in the Green Energy Challenge.
