Cyclone Engineering undergrads to showcase research at Iowa Capitol

Cyclone Engineering undergraduates will present research posters at the Iowa Statehouse at the 14th annual Research in the Capitol event on April 1. Research in the Capitol highlights the important research being conducted by undergraduate students across the state. Students will interact with elected officials, university administrators and news media, discussing the impact their research could have on Iowa, the nation and the world. 

IE student-athlete sets school record in softball

An industrial engineering student-athlete is now Iowa State softball’s all-time career leader in saves. Emma Hylen, a senior pitcher, became Iowa State softball’s all-time career save leader after helping the team to nab a 7-5 win over Harvard University last weekend. DataFEWSion: Preparing tomorrow’s food-energy-water systems experts

Iowa State is home to a new National Science Foundation traineeship program preparing the next generation of food-energy-water (FEW) systems innovators. Open to both masters and Ph.D. students, the DataFEWSion program offers a unique focus on data-rich systems modeling at the intersection of energy transformation, water management, and cropping and livestock systems.

An industrial engineering student-athlete set both a school record and collegiate record at the Big 12 Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championships last weekend in Lubbock, Texas. Get involved in hands-on engineering learning and service projects with FundISU

FundISU is a new way for Cyclone Engineering alumni and friends to support the innovative work and research being done at Iowa State University. Nearly four years ago the Iowa State University Foundation implemented FundISU – a crowdfunding platform helps Iowa State University community members raise money to support projects that advance innovation, teaching and learning at the university and promote Iowa State’s mission to create, share, and apply knowledge to make Iowa and the world a better place.

Iowa State industrial engineering senior and first-year MBA student combines her two passions

Meghan Heavener, first-year MBA student and senior in Industrial Engineering at Iowa State University, is combining engineering with business to achieve her goals. The MBA program only added one year to her degree program, but she hopes that it will add a lot more to her skillset.
