Maier Honored with 2020 Sukup Global Food Security Award

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) presented the 2020 Sukup Global Food Security award during their virtual meeting this year, July 13-15, to Dirk Maier, a professor in the Iowa State University Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. The award recognizes distinguished contributions to global food security through research, outreach and teaching.

Associate professor Abdelkhalik named AIAA associate fellow Of the nearly 30,000 individual members of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) worldwide, only 17% are selected as associate fellows. MSE Ph.D. grad earns Zaffarano Prize honorable mention

Zhongming Fan (’19 Ph.D. mat sci engr) earned an honorable mention for the Zaffarano Prize. The Zaffarano Prize is awarded annually to graduate students showing exceptional performance in publishing research in academic journals. Selection is based on both the quality and quantity of their publications.

ME graduate student earns top ASME Fluid Engineering Division award

 Roy Pillers, mechanical engineering graduate student, was named the 2020 FED Prof. Kirti Ghia Scholar. The Fluids Engineering Division [of ASME] selects several students representing a different technical committee and awards them the ASME FED Graduate Student Scholar (GSS) Award. The Prof. Kirti Ghia Scholar award is the highest and most prestigious of these awards recognizing the best graduate student submission for the conference.

CCEE graduate student receives women’s scholarship for excellence in the transportation field
