A senior in materials engineering, Andrew White’s Cyclone Engineering experience has been full of research, mentorship and networking in pursuit of innovative solutions. And he’s just getting started.
“I thrive on solving complex challenges and am determined to contribute to energy solutions.
As a Cyclone Engineer, I’ve had the privilege of working on polymers and metals with incredible mentors, including Dr. Chris Cornelius on optimizing polymer electrolyte membranes for fuel cells and gas separation, working closely Dr. Thivani Senathiraja; Dr. Jun Cui on developing high-temperature niobium alloys, collaborating with Dr. Gaoyuan Ouyang and Ben Hilliard; and Dr. Boyce Chang on investigating plasma etching of thin films and molecular interactions, alongside Caden Chittick.
These experiences deepened my appreciation for how materials can drive energy solutions and advanced manufacturing. I also had the opportunity to present my research at American Chemical Society and Materials Research Society conferences, engaging with fellow scientists and expanding my perspective.
I’m incredibly grateful to my mentors, colleagues, and peers who have supported me. As I step into this year with a fresh perspective, I look forward to learning from others and connecting with those passionate about polymers, metals, and materials innovation.”
