Manojit Pramanik named Optica Fellow

Manojit Pramanik, Northrop Grumman associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and participating faculty in biomedical engineering, has been named a Fellow of Optica by The Optical Society, Advancing Optics and Photonics Worldwide.

Optica is dedicated to promoting the generation, application, archiving and dissemination of knowledge in the field. Optical Fellows are selected based on several factors, including outstanding contributions to research, business, education, engineering and service to Optica and its community.

Pramanik is being recognized specifically for outstanding contributions in the field of low-cost, compact photoacoustic computed tomography, photoacoustic image reconstruction and contrast agent development.

Pramanik is also Fellow of SPIE (Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers) and a Senior Member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
