Department of Aerospace Engineering Ph.D. student Seth Zoppelt has received a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship. His major professor is Ping He, with co-advisor Hui Hu, both AerE faculty members. His research project is entitled “High-fidelity Multidisciplinary Design Optimization of Rotorcraft Propellers with Experimental Validation.” Zoppelt is currently working at the NASA Glenn Research Center with a co-op program. His future goals are to obtain his Ph.D. and work in industry with particular emphasis on rotorcraft/drone design, potentially for Earth- and/or Mars-based systems. The prestigious NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program helps ensure the quality, vitality, and strength of the scientific and engineering workforce of the U.S. by supporting students in science. The fellowship provides financial support to recipients.
