Four State Science & Technology Fair of Iowa Participants Awarded $500 IMSE Scholarships

This is the third year the Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) department has awarded scholarships to hand-selected projects at the State Science & Technology Fair of Iowa (SSTFI). Four participants were awarded $500 IMSE scholarships at this year’s event. Scholarship winners pictured above with College of Engineering Distinguished Teaching Professor Leslie Potter are:

  • Anneka Singh, Project title: “Can They Eat It? Creating an Eco & Livestock Friendly Hay String”
  • Hubo (Andrew) Liu, Project title: “Grinder Wheels”
  • Gavin Pieper,  Project title: “An Analysis of Junior Performances and Progression in Chess”
  • Allison Gruntmeir, “Assessing Home Feasibility in Des Moines Using YOLO-based Machine Learning
