Valuable hands-on learning in class
CHEM 575 – it’s a very practical course about exploiting the properties of X-rays to determine the structures of crystalline solids. It has been very helpful to my current research.
Out-of-the-classroom engineering experience
Undergraduate research, in general. The experiences of making novel discoveries and overseeing a project from start to finish not only fulfilling but also important for my next career step.
Most influential mentor
My research mentor at Iowa State, Kirill Kovnir professor of chemistry, for support in my research and also in the development of my career.
Best memory
I really enjoyed presenting alongside my peers at the 2023 American Institute of Chemical Engineers conference. I also have a lot of good childhood memories about VEISHEA!
Plans after graduation
I will pursue a PhD in Material Science and Engineering at Stanford University.
Making my mark on the world
Hopefully, I will leave the world more energy-efficient.
Engineering like a Cyclone Engineer
The combination of breadth and depth that anyone can achieve in the College of Engineering at ISU is unique. I’ve enjoyed the experience of diving into a major-specific topic, while also being able to pursue a variety of non-STEM opportunities across and outside the university.
