Three engineering postdocs win research and seed funding awards

Three Cyclone Engineer postdoctoral research associates won research awards and funding from the Iowa State University PostDoc Association.

Azahar Ali, postdoc in electrical and computer engineering, won a Postdoctoral Scholar Research Excellence Award. The award honors postdoctoral scholars who have made innovative and significant research contributions to their field of study. Ali works in the research group of Liang Dong, professor of electrical and computer engineering.

Timothy Morgan, postdoc in mechanical engineering, and Fei Lu, postdoc in materials science and engineering, both have won Postdoctoral Seed Grant funding support. The awards provide Iowa State postdocs with a valuable opportunity to apply for research funding in the role of principal investigator. Morgan works in the research group of Ted Heindel, Bergles Professorship in Thermal Science in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Liu works in the group of Shan Jiang, assistant professor of materials science and engineering.
