ABE graduate student profile featured in Diversity/Careers Magazine

Engineering graduate schools are pushing to boost diversity, and they’re making headway as more and more women and minorities earn undergraduate degrees in fields that have been traditionally dominated by white males. Yet there is still considerable work to be done.

The article highlights several engineering graduate students, including Maurice Washington, a PhD student in agricultural and biosystems engineering. Washington talks about his research in monitoring emerging contaminants, and how he wants to encourage more minority students to pursue engineering.
