Isiah Warner is keynote speaker for this year’s Diversity Workshop

Isiah Warner, Louisiana State University Boyd Professor, will kick off this year’s College of Engineering Diversity Workshop on October 6, 2011, at 5 p.m. with the talk “A Diversity Model That Works: The Mentoring Ladder.” The presentation will be held in the Alliant Energy-Lee Liu Auditorium of Howe Hall.

Warner will then join college faculty and students for two workshops held on Friday, October 7, that will focus on mentoring students. The first session, which will begin at 11:00 a.m., will discuss the role of faculty in student mentoring, and the second session held at 1:00 p.m. will consider the role students play in mentoring one another.

Warner will also deliver a talk for Iowa State’s Department of Chemistry called “GUMBOS: A New Breed of Tunable Materials,” on October 7 at 3:10 p.m. in 1352 Gilman.
