ConE program receives donation for new lab

Master Builders of Iowa has contributed $325,000 to Iowa State University, the University of Northern Iowa, and the Iowa Department of Education to support engineering and construction programs.

Iowa State’s College of Engineering received $150,000 to create the Tom and Ro Jellinger Laboratory in the school’s construction engineering program. The laboratory will provide virtual site tours, building information modeling, and a central and flexible learning environment for the senior-level design course. Mobile Internet and computer facilities will enable real-time broadcasts of construction activities taking place at remote locations. In all, Master Builders of Iowa has provided more than $625,000 in support of faculty, students and programs in the construction engineering program at Iowa State.
