2020 recipients of Guy and Giese Graduate Student Fellowship

Five students were awarded the annual Guy and Giese Graduate Student Fellowship. The Giese Graduate Fellowship was created in memory of Henry Giese, professor of structures and environment areas for Iowa State University’s Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department (ISU ABE). The Harold and Katherine Guy Graduate Fellowship was designed to promote research done in soil and water conservation. 

Suzanne Leonard reflects on her Trinect Fellowship experience

Suzanne Leonard, a PhD student in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, recently wrapped up her experience as a 2017-2018 Trinect Fellow. This fellowship is funded by the National Science Foundation STEM-C Partnership: MSP program and provides support to graduate students in engineering. ABE grads win at Animal Welfare Judging and Assessment Contest

Three agricultural and biosystems engineering graduate students attended the 2016 Intercollegiate Animal Welfare Judging and Assessment Contest, held at Ohio State University on November 12 and 13. The Iowa State University graduate team, comprised of Suzanne Leonard, Kai Liu and Jofran Oliveira, placed first in the Team Live Assessment scenario and third place Overall Team.
