ISU faculty, staff and students win big at ASABE in Orlando

Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering faculty, staff and students were once again a strong presence at the annual American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) conference. More winners will be announced in upcoming Inside magazines (ASABE publication):

2016 ASABE Major Award Winners:

  • Carl Bern: Sukup Global Food Security Award
  • Mark Hanna: SMV Technologies Ergonomics, Safety and Health Award
  • Matt Helmers: Blue Ribbon Award for his role in the medium length publication, “Tile Drainage Pump Stations for Farm Fields”
  • Steve Hoff: Superior Paper Award for his role in the technical papers, “The Efficiency of Biofilters at Mitigating Airborne MRSA from a Swine Nursery,” and “Odor and Odorous Chemical Emissions from Animal Buildings: Part 3. Chemical Emissions”
  • Jacek Koziel: Superior Paper Award for his role in the technical paper, “Odor and Odorous Chemical Emissions from Animal Buildings: Part 3. Chemical Emissions”
  • D. Raj Raman: Massey-Ferguson Educational Gold Medal
  • Charles Sukup: McCormick Case Gold Medal
  • Connor West (senior, agriculture systems technology): elected secretary to the International Preprofessional Community
  • Hongwei Xin: Henry Giese Structures and Environment Award
