As part of their bi-annual educational outreach tour (called the “SunRun”), members of Team PrISUm, Iowa State’s Solar Car Team made a stop at the State Capitol in Des Moines on Tuesday, May 19.

While there, members were able to talk with both students and politicians about how the car works and what the team does.

Members in attendance were electrical engineering sophomore Nathan Coonrod, aerospace engineering senior Garret Coleman, computer engineering students Lucas Ince (junior) and Ben Pieper (senior), and mechanical engineering students Patrick Fiedler (senior), Matt Goode (junior), and Andrew Mallek (sophomore).

The SunRun is a week-long event in which the team drives around Iowa visiting school, sponsors, and community events. The schedule for the remainder of the tour (which goes through Friday) can be found at their  Facebook page.
