Sigma Gamma Tau recognizes Aerospace Engineering senior with distinguished student award

The Sigma Gamma Tau organization has honored Kyle Willis, Aerospace Engineering Senior, with this semester’s Distinguished Undergraduate Student Award.

Kyle Willis receives the Sigma Gamma Tau Distinguished Undergraduate Student Award from Richard Wlezien, Professor and Vance and Arlene Coffman Endowed Department Chair in Aerospace Engineering.

Kyle Willis is a senior in Aerospace Engineering, who came to Iowa State from Council Bluffs, Iowa. Kyle has been a part of many organizations since coming to Iowa State in 2008. He is heavily involved with AirISU, a group constructing a two-seat light sport aircraft, serving as Treasurer for three years. He has also been involved with Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society serving as a Project Officer, Sigma Gamma Tau Aerospace Engineering Honor Society serving as Webmaster, the Engineering Student Council Finance Committee, and various other campus activities. Kyle has volunteered with Iowa’s FIRST LEGO League Competition held at Iowa State by helping competing teams and the technical production crew. Kyle will be graduating in this semester Summa Cum Laude honors.
