Dusty Gutzmann (AerE Senior) receives outstanding member award for Sigma Gamma Tau Honor Society

Sigma Gamma Tau Aerospace Honor Society at Iowa State University has selected Dusty J. Gutzmann for the Honor Undergraduate Student Award for the 2010-2011 school year.  The award is presented to an outstanding student in aerospace engineering who has demonstrated exceptional academic and technical achievement, participation in extracurricular activities and interest in their chosen profession.  Dusty receives his name engraved on the award plaque which will be posted in the Aerospace Engineering office in Howe Hall.

Dusty Joseph Gutzmann is a senior in Aerospace Engineering from Emerson, Nebraska.  Since coming to Iowa State University in 2007 Dusty has been heavily involved with many organizations.  He has served multiple positions in his fraternity including President, Recruitment Chair, and Chaplain and recently went with 5 other members to Welkom, South Africa to help construct children homes at an orphanage.  He has also been involved with ISU Dance Marathon, serving on the Recruitment and Morale committee for three years, served as a GRIP mentor, and been involved with various other campus activities.  Dusty has also been heavily involved with the Memorial Lutheran Church with teaching Sunday School for four years and going on various service trips.  Dusty will be graduating in December of 2011 and will be pursuing a career in the field of aerospace engineering.
